TRI-FUNCTION VAPORIZER

Features: Digital Temperature Gauge, Handsfree Whip, Hardwood Construction, Glass Encased Ceramic Heating Rod.
    Warranty: 5 Year Manufacturer Warranty

The Herbal AIRE Vaporizer is manufactured by Bohdan Petyhyrycz in Canada. The Herbal AIRE was introduced into the Vaporizer market in 2005.

The Herbal AIRE Vaporizer is a forced air vaporizer with Dual Functionality options that utilizes both a direct inhalation and balloon fill system.

The nichrome wired heating element of the Herbal AIRE Vaporizer is encased in heat temperate aluminum while the outer shell and mouth piece are made of pure Teflon, one of the most inert substances able to hold heat up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit.

HerbalAIRE Vaporizer Ease of Use

In regards to the Functionality of the Herbal AIRE Vaporizer, I believe that the included instructions aided me in operating this unit.

The rotary dial Temperature Control board, allowed me to experiment with temperatures between 250F-400 degrees Fahrenheit or 125C-200 degrees Celsius in order to find the optimal heat setting.

After setting the temperature, the Tri-Colored Temperature Light indicated when the desired temperatures have been reached, boosting the ease of use of the Herbal AIRE vaporizer.

HerbalAIRE Vaporizer Heat Up Time

The Herbal AIRE has both a heat up and cool down time around five minutes.

The HerbalAIRE is equipped with an Automatic Shut-Off feature. The unit will shutdown and blink green 30 minutes from the last time the dial is adjusted.

When you are ready to continue Vaporizing, turn the rotary dial in a counter clock wise motion, “OFF,” and then turn it clock wise motion, “ON,” as this well begin the heating process again.

HerbalAIRE Vaporizer Efficiency/Effectiveness

The technology employed within the Herbal Aire Vaporizer allows for the production of a quality vapor. Active ingredients are extracted at the lowest possible temperatures with maximum efficiency.

Eighteen tiny jets of precisely heated air permeate the blend only when the user inhales or when the pump for the bag fill system is turned on.

At all other times the blend sits idle, the essence is preserved, waiting for the next vaporizer session to occur.
HerbalAIRE Vaporizer Warranty

The HerbalAire comes with an exclusive five year warranty, restricted to normal use. Additional replacement parts can be purchased for a nominal fee.

HerbalAIRE Vaporizer Overall Satisfaction

The Herbal AIRE Vaporizer is an efficient forced air Vaporizer. I would recommend this unit to those that are in the market for a compact dual functional unit at a reasonable price.

I can’t believe no one has written a review for this yet! I bought mine a month ago and I use it multiple times a day and I LOVE IT! It doesn’t take too long to heat up, doesn’t get too hot on the outside and it works damn well. The price is awesome for what you get, and what you get is a reliable and easy to use vaporizer that does it’s job really well and Herbalaire customer service is the best. I did a lot of research using Google before I bought this and all the good things I read is why I bought it and I don’t regret it! I’ve used a friends digital volcano before as well, so I do have some experience with other vapes. Oh, and the experience from using a vape over the traditional methods is very noticeable. A vape makes your trip much better and cleaner feeling.
    Happy Trails!

The herbalAire with a few improvements could definitely earn five stars. For the latest model, I am giving it a 4 star rating. The Volcano is a 5 star vaporizer, but it also will cost you $540 – $900 new. This is the affordable alternative for those of us who want the best, but are not filthy rich yet. Here are some of my thoughts about this neat little vaporizer.

    Some of the things I like about it are;
    1. It heats up very quickly
    2. You can fill the balloon or draw from the tube directly. I prefer the balloon.
    3. It does not take as much herbs as the Volcano.
    4. It is not bulky or too heavy
    5. No more or very little coughing.
    6. Your house will not stink.
    7. You can use a balloon an hour or two after you have filled it and it is still fantastic.
    8. This is the most efficient way to ingest your herbs. You will get more uses out of your herbs.

    Here are a few of the things that could be improved;
    1. It takes a while to fill the balloons.
    2. The screen is not replaceable on the mouthpiece.
    3. The screen could be finer, if herbs are ground too much, they can get into the balloon.
    4. The balloon has no shutoff valve. It is automatic with the volcano. I have been jamming a Q-tip into the opening on the mouthpiece to keep the balloon from leaking.
    5. The balloons are too small. This can easily be resolved by making a new custom bag with a couple of cable ties and the same type of bags you would use with the Volcano.
    6. I forgot what number 6 is.

I have recently been using the Volcano. I have also used the box and glass whip vaporizers. If you don’t mind spending the $550, then the Volcano is definitely the Vape for you, but for less than half of that, I think this is a pretty decent alternative.

If you are a struggling college student, buy a box and whip from ebay for $65. If you want the Volcano but you can’t afford it, definitely buy this one. If you can afford the Volcano, buy the Volcano. I think this one is probably almost as efficient as the Volcano, but the Volcano rocks.

After using the herbalAire and the Volcano, I am convinced that the bag (balloon) method is the best way to vaporize your herbs. Buy whichever one you can afford, and I think you will be very happy with your decision. My breathing is now much better and I no longer cough or wheeze or feel like I have to spit all the time from the smoking. As a regular smoker for over 20 years, I can assure you that I am not losing anything.

In fact, I get more of what I want by vaporizing than smoking.
I hope this helps, it gave me something to do.

This is my first electric vaporizer and it works great. I’ve only owned it for about a month, so I can’t really speak of its durability, but the temperature control is accurate and it really exhausts the herb you put in it. There is a common complaint about this unit that it takes a long time to fill the bags. I have never used the Volcano, so I can’t compare it to that, but I have no complaints about the fill time. It takes like 3 minutes to fill a bag. Maybe this could be a problem if you have a room full of people waiting for it, but I don’t have this problem.

There also seems to be a common concern about using plastic parts in a vaporizer because of their possible toxicity. I can’t speak of the toxic vapors that may be released in this unit, but I can say a little of its construction. It is all metal below the herb crucible and up to the outlet; I assume the metal to be aluminum from the looks of it. The heating element is separated from the chamber where the herb is located, but I believe that air that flows over the element also flows through the herb. At the outlet, the material changes to Teflon where a Teflon mouthpiece and straw are inserted. The bag then connects to the straw. I’m guessing that these pieces are plastic coated in Teflon, but I’m not positive. At any rate, toxic chemicals are not released from Teflon until the temperature reaches about 660 F, according to Dupont’s website. This unit’s temperature control does not go above 400 F. Like I said before, I can’t really speak of what hazardous chemicals could be released from the plastic or aluminum, but that’s how the chamber and flow path are constructed. I’ve also never tasted plastic in the vapor when I used it.

The unit I got came with one mouthpiece, two straws, two bags, and an air pump and tubing. When using direct inhalation, you allow the unit to heat up (takes about a minute), and inhale from the straw without the pump connected. To fill a bag, you would connect the bag to the straw, connect the air pump to the unit and turn it on when it is heated. The external air pump makes the unit a little more cumbersome, but I actually kind of like the idea of having it external because if it breaks all you have to do is go to a pet store and get a new air pump. If it were internal, you would have to ship the unit back to the manufacturer and probably pay a hefty repair fee.

When you consider that this is half the price of the Volcano, it could be a really good investment if you’re looking for a vaporizer. It doesn’t look or feel like a cheap product and it really gets the job done. I also think there is a money-back guarantee from the manufacturer if you don’t like it.

My wife and I bought one of these about a year ago when we found out we were having a baby so we could stop smoking. It comes with a list of all the different herbs and such that you can vaporize, including which are safe to inhale and which you would let fill the room with the aroma. It is very useful list and has allowed us to really put to good use. Time and time again it functions beautifully. If the pump ever were to go out then you can easily replace it, it’s really just an aquarium air pump. You can even buy an upgrade kit or just buy yourself a more powerful air pump if you’re too impatient for the bag fill time. I would recommend this vaporizer to anyone wanting a well built product at an excellent price.

This is a solid vape. I have been thinking about it for a while, and decided to take the step to give a shout out for the Herbalaire 2.1. Like others have said, you can get even more out of your herb a second time around, if you didn’t spend it all in the first 20 minutes or so- before it automatically shuts off.

What a delight it was when I found that the mouthpiece fit perfectly for an airtight fit into my water bong! This thing rocks! I rarely use anything else. It’s so effective, clean, healthy and convenient for home setup, that it deserves some recognition for the price. Volcano vapes are cool, but if you want something that fits into a drawer, yet gives you top results, look no further.

Also, I put a 3 inch metal spring around the hose end, with an included straw to connect to the top of the herbalaire, now there are no kinking problems at all on the whip. I don’t use the balloon system too much, only for novelty every few months. The bong setup is just so satisfying, what else can I say?

*edit* There is one small minor thing. After a few months of use, the white plug that fits into the top of the unit, pops off easily when you first start up. But once it heats up, it holds fast.

I just bought the latest Herbalaire unit which is the H2.1 (as of July 2011), and I just used it for the first time and I’m impressed. I smoked from a Volcano before, but didn’t really have any personal experience using a vape. I’ve been smoking the same herb for the past week or so now and I did not get as high from burning it as I am right now after using the Herbalaire. The new H2.1 model comes with a larger pump that only takes roughly a minute to completely fill a bag, but it takes nearly that long for one person to clear a bag out. I wish it had a digital temperature gauge, but the rotary style temp control works well it seems. I bought the unit brand new from Vaporizers.net So far it seems to be quite efficient indeed. If you want a top quality vape for a reasonable (sane price) get the Herbalaire. The Volcano is sweet indeed, but I do electronics as a hobby and I could build a Volcano with even cooler gadgets/features for cheaper. Granted it wouldn’t have the same production value because I don’t have a manufacturing facility but you get the point… Basically, paying 500+ for a fancy toaster oven is ridiculous when you can get something that is in my opinion just as good and it’s even more portable. It’s about the size of a handheld coffee grinder or 20 oz soda bottle. However, I would agree that it could use a better bag valve design, but I’m certain that if I spent some time searching around I could find something that I could clamp the bag to. I digress.

Buy this vape if you want a quality unit at an unbeatable price.

I’ve owned this vaporizer about 8 months, and after trying a fair number of vapes, I have to say the HerbalAire 2.1 is hands down the best vaporizer on the market. The honeymoon period of ownership is over, and I still absolutely love it, and have quit smoking completely in my house. The vapor output is much higher than my friend’s Volcano with about 2/3 of the material, both in density of the vapor and the number of consecutive quality bags you get from one “load”.

From first turning it on to finishing the last (3rd or 4th) bag, total operation time is usually around 30 minutes for me. It usually takes about 3-4 minutes to fill my “regular” bag I think, I’ve never actually timed it. The bags that come with it are pretty much crap, and are designed to leak rather than explode if you overfill the bag, but if you just get Reynolds Meat (Reg Size) or Turkey (XL) bags, they work great. The Reynolds bag WILL explode though if you turn it on and forget about it.

Cleaning the components is also very easy, just soak in alcohol for 30-60 minutes, and use some Q-tips on the inside pieces, maybe a stiff brush or two on the screen components and its good as new. I also swab out the inside of the actual unit where the crucible goes with a bit of alcohol to keep it clean, but it doesn’t really get that dirty. I saw somewhere that it was suggested to replace the components every 6 months or so, but I haven’t had any problem with just cleaning them. However, flavor will diminish somewhat if you don’t keep the unit clean. I clean all my components about once every 2-4 weeks.

I do have a few criticisms, but they are fairly minor. First is that the mouthpiece is way too basic, and should be adapted to some kind of valve system. Second, all the external components, especially the end of the mouth piece, get very sticky after extended use, but you can scrape up the sticky oil and revaporize it, so its not that big of a deal. It is just somewhat annoying if you get it on your lips, teeth or fingers. Lastly, I had to add a finer screen on top of the crucible (“bowl”) to keep from getting material blown into the mouth piece while the bag fills, which would later then become dislodged and stick to the back of my throat. Other than that, I have no complaints.

I didn’t even mention using the whip style with this, because I don’t use it that much, but it also works great, and is good for situations where you can’t fill bags.

I recommend this vaporizer to ANYONE that is looking for the best quality vaporizer out there. Don’t spend $600+ on hype because everyone has told you the Volcano is the best. The Herbal Aire 2.1 is 1/3 of the cost and will give you much better output and bang for your buck.
