How To Use The Magic Flight Launch Box
While the unit comes with attachments (and the LB is said to accept the Purple Days stem as well) most users prefer to use the device native (i.e. no attachment).
1. Charge the AA NiMH battery (batteries and charger included).
2. Fill the trench with dry, ground material (the drier the herb and the finer the grind the better) but don’t tamp it down.
3. Push the battery all of the way in and begin drawing fairly slowly after about 3 seconds.
4. Draw on the Box for 10 to 20 seconds and then remove the battery. Don’t forget this. Ever. You will ruin the trenchful of herb and cross over from vaporizing to smoking. (Note: new models come equipped with a push-back ring for the battery, so that the battery will lose contact when pressure is released. This ring can be removed if so desired.)
5. Shake the Box or stir the trench between hits.
6. Connoisseurs always use a fresh battery. However, if you want to squeeze more juice out of a weakened battery (i.e. any battery that has been used once, per Magic-flight) and feel like a smaller trench anyway, you can safely under-fill the trench as well.

This product comes with rechargeable batteries and the battery charger. It is small but sturdy, perfect for travel and it will go with you anywhere. All you do is pop the battery in it’s hole and immediately you have vape, then take out the battery and no more vape. It is as if the battery is a lighter.
I have got quick good quality hits of vapor everytime. I have tried alot of other portable vaporizers and I love this one the most b/c it works well every time, has no nasty plastic pieces or smells, is highly portable, and easily powered. “Slight is the scent of rosebay or sandalwood, but the scent of virtue is supreme, drifting even to the gods”

I just received my Magic Flight Launch Box and I’m very impressed! It heats up extremely quickly (less than five seconds) and works great. I already owned some discrete one-hitters, but I like that the Magic Flight Launch Box is a vaporizer, which is healthier to use than smoking. You don’t get as hard a hit as you would, from say, a bong, but this device actually works pretty great for something so small. I would say that this little piece works better than the VaporTower, which I also own.
When I first got my package I was surprised at how small the package was and even more surprised at how small the actual Magic Flight Launch Box was when I took it out of the package. It fits in the palm of my hand and is only a little bit thicker than a G1 phone (which is admittedly pretty thick for a phone). The box comes with it’s own small tin carrying case, along with two rechargeable batteries and charger, case to carry two batteries, battery caps, cleaning brush, small plastic container to hold extra ground up materials, optional draw stem, and a black velvet storage bag. They even include two rubber bands you can use to hold the box shut if it’s loaded and in your pocket, which I thought was a nice touch.
If you do end up buying this item, make sure that you take pretty slow breaths when using it. If you hear air whistling through the box, you’re pulling too hard and not really getting the full effect. If you do it nice and slow you will get extremely warm, potent air when you breath in and that’s when the box seems to work best. You will get a slight taste in your mouth but the scent of the air that you breath out is very faint. If you breathed the air out of a window or if you were using this vaporizer outside, there would be no way that someone will be able to smell anything on you afterwards.
My only quibble) has to do with the batteries. The directions say that you can use any AA NiMh batteries that are of 2000mAh strength or more. They caution against using RadioShack brand batteries but say that other batteries fitting those specifications should work. However, I had some rechargeable Eneloop batteries which comply with those specs but simply don’t work with the device. When you put a working battery in the box, a little light appears where the heating element is, but when you use a fully charged Eneloop battery, the light doesn’t come on at all. In fact, I couldn’t find any batteries that worked with the box besides the two that came with the kit. The other issue is the fact that a single battery only lasts for 4-8 hits or about the equivalent of one full bowl. This means that since only two batteries came with the box and my other batteries don’t work, that I can’t really share it with more than one person without having to wait for the batteries to charge. With the charger that came with the kit, it takes two hours for the batteries to fully charge and I almost always want to be able to go through more than two bowls every two hours. I am going to order a couple extra sets of batteries from this company and I believe that will solve all my problems.
Overall, I’ve very impressed with how well it works and how discrete it actually is. If you’re not sure whether you should get it or not, and you’re looking for something effective, attractive, and discrete, than the Magic Flight Launch box definitely wins.

Excellent Item… I normally don’t write reviews unless I am really excited about a item and the people that make it… This is the first Vaporizer I have ever owned or used so I can’t really compare to other Vape’s but I did a lot of looking, reading and researching before I bought the Magic-Flight Launch Box.. Things I really like about the LB. Very small and stealth, price, easy to use and you can use just about anywhere… You are not tied down to a cord or a large unit that you have to sit on a table or a long wand or anything. For example, even just around your house you can slip in your pocket and use whenever you want.. Laying on the couch watching TV, out in the garage working, Sitting on the front porch enjoying the nice weather… Sitting on the toilet meditating… etc etc.. You see my point..
So easy to use anywhere without that “tied down feeling”.. And don’t even get me started on using the LB outside.. Hiking, long walks, trips to the beach, snowboarding, those boring family reunions, Dave Matthews concert, and the list goes on and on…. Don’t get me wrong, the larger home units are good in other areas like for large parties and if you have a lot of people over… But overall , you can’t beat the price, ease of use, Stealth, and flexibility of the Magic-Flight Launch Box..
And on top of all that, the company that makes this product is top notch people who go out of their way to make sure their customers are happy.. With a lifetime warranty.. Even if YOU break it… And if you are one of those heavy all day users and the thought of having to use batteries turns you off, well the Company just announced they are coming out with a AC power cord attachment which will work with all existing and new LB’s.. So now you can have the best of both worlds (batteries or AC)… If you are at all into Vaporizers or even like me just getting into them, you got to try the Magic-Flight Launch Box

Absolutely incredible little vape that has ended my days of “burning” green. It’s a bit of a challenge to keep the batteries warm enough and charged enough to perform properly but well worth the effort. I’m an all day “smoker” and with my asthma, the party was about to come to a close until the Launch Box walked into my life.
Thank you Magic Flight! This thing is simply constructed but built like a tank (aside from the fragile internal screen area that must be handled with care) and so compact that it literally goes EVERYWHERE with me. I love this thing. I don’t even own a lighter these days and can’t believe I inhaled all that ash for so many years….but no more.
If you don’t order one of these things right now you should just go ahead and punch yourself in the face.

I absolutely agree with Jimmy. I’ve been ‘smoking’ to ash for over 15 years, and the MFLB has finally converted me. I just got this a week and a half ago, and have not used a lighter since.
If you are looking for a vaporizer, have $100, and you’re not planning to order…you should go ahead and punch yourself in the face. Twice.

This unit is great. It’s real strength has to be stealth. It is not just a stealthy vape… it is the SNEAKIEST way to consume herb short of consumption in food or drink (cookies, tea…). I am really impressed by how stealthily I can have a session.
Buy this unit if you’re trying to cut down on your medication. I can vape anywhere with this thing. It’s tiny and what little odour it does emit is not recognisable to the inexperienced.

hey, it’s a good vape, but it’s not as good as some reviews suggest. you need to use a little more herb in this to get the same effect as my other vape, which is a Vapir One. On the other hand, the launch box does work and it’s silent and portable. If they ever figure out how to make one of these that hits a little stronger, it will be perfect. Also, you need a strong grip for the launch box, as I don’t think it would be easy for someone with weak hands to depress the battery sufficiently to make it work. the batter is essentially the on button. you squeeze the battery in to turn it on. you have to squeeze it pretty hard. This is in a recent model. For me, it can be done, but is not exactly comfortable. If you’ve got arthritis or any kind of hand injury, forget it.

@mhat: They actually just added that “feature” on the newest model by inserting a little circle of foam behind the battery that can easily be removed to get the classic MFLB constant power approach or torn in half to make the battery easier to press. Just FYI!

I’m a professional singer and have always considered getting a vaporizer and now that I finally found one that’s affordable and easy to use, I got it! And I love it! Like I said, it’s easy, it works, it’s portable and it’s affordable. Fantastic purchase for the money.
I’ve already noticed a difference in my voice.
I highly recommend it to anyone who relies on using their voice for a living or even someone who just wants to take better care of the voice. Truly a fantastic product.

Very nice device, Ive owned it for many many months now.
VERY small. Wasent exactly expecting something slightly bigger then a Zippo lighter when I bought it, but now I realize its only an advantage.
Heats up extremely quickly, maybe about 3 seconds max. Vapor is visible on the clear acrylic window.
Definitely get a nice two piece grinder for this so you can grind up materials as finely as possible.
Finally, many people will knock this device saying it dosent work at all because its not working for them. This is simply not the case. Its all in the technique. If you get it down, it will do its job, but if you dont take the day or two to properly learn to use it, then obviously it wont work for you.
Overall, I highly suggest it if you need something small, functional effective

I was turned towards the Launch Box by a friend of mine who swore by it – and I was skeptical at its simple, small design. But, it had a lifetime warranty, so I got it. IF you know how to work it, its sublime. Its not automatic, the temperature is controlled by the speed at which you inhale, so its important to keep the vapor you inhale at a moderate temperature. I found its a great personal smoking device. But its best not to whip it out in groups, mostly because of people who will use it improperly and ruin the bowl. Easily the best portable vaporizer on the market. I was walking through Westlake in Seattle with it just hitting it with a friend, no one had any idea what we were doing. Don’t get the Iolite, electricity is cheaper than butane. (Another fact I forgot to mention: the use of battery’s is good, but charge them very frequently.

Stopped smoking the moment i tried this little device. Its about a half a year old and still works great. I would recommend buying 2700 mah NiMH rechargeable batteries if you plan on using it often. The “box” works best for about 1-3 people. Plus the this little device saves you money in the long run.

Hello my fellow responsible Gents. It is with great moderation and of course usage of my recently acquired MFLB that has inevitably saved me a lot precious herb. My life has greatly changed in such a positive way. Thanks ents for letting me know about the Launch box. I really dont digg the price but I cant believe I never knew about vaporizers beforehand. It’s not BS, this thing really does pay for itself in the long run. I only need like 2 trenches of finely ground herb and then I’m at a solid 9} for a good 3-5 hours. Great device, Stealth, sturdy, and simple. Once you get the hang of it after a couple of tries you’re a master at vaping. I dont want to go on a long rant here but I really like this alot.

This is a magical device. It’s very tiny. The picture doesn’t do it justice on how small it is. It is a sexy device and works great. The instructions are simple, the device is simple. I’ve used it twice already and it seems like the start of a new, long-term relationship. This thing barely produces any smell at all. I’ve tried herbs and tobacco. You can actually smoke this at work and get away with it. The charger is nice, works quickly and the device itself is worth its weight in gold. I wish I knew about this sooner.

If you’re thinking of getting one, just do it. I was on the fence too. It did nothing for me the first two or three times, but with practice you can get a huge hit. Just remember to suck in very very slowly, and don’t hold the hit in your mouth. Use your lungs. The slower you go, the hotter the herb gets, and the thicker the hit. After a few times you’ll be able to get a nice strong hit without burning the herb. Give it a few tries before you ditch it.
Amazing device. I’d be willing to pay twice this price if I ever had to replace this thing. But it has a lifetime warranty so I won’t have to
LIFETIME.
Seriously, buy this thing.

After going on a journey to a local smoke shop to look at new and improved vaporizers, I was skeptical of this product. I took this product home immediately after purchaseing it to try it out and was kind of dissapointed. After practice though I soon became able to get a very good smoke session out of this handy little device. Although it was a little spendy considering that it’s not a complex device to construct I am pretty happy with it.

For the person who said they bought batteries and they didn’t work. You might have to PEEL the batteries before they work. I have some awesome Energizer batteries, and I had to peel them so they’d work. It actually hits much much stronger, to the point where it WILL smell but you can avoid that by hitting it for less seconds. Also, one battery works for tons of hits. So if you have 2-4, so could easily have a smoke sesh with your friends.

On the rechargable battery front… You must remove the sticker from the battery so it is bare metal, then they will work. I use Duracell NiMh and they work great. You can get 4 with a rapid charger for under $15 at Walmart. Yeah buddy.
This is my first vape, and i must say, I like it a lot… I can use it in my house without anyone knowing. Very littleto no smell.

Okay, first off I have tried everything to get this thing working. I have ground down my wacky, pulled slowly, even made sure the wacky was dry, and still nothing. I know what might be said… Did I use charged batteries? Yes. I used the batteries ( fully charged) that came with it.
What am I doing wrong?

Regarding the aftermarket batteries. You need to peel off the plastic wrap on the batteries so they are only metal like the mflb batteries. If there is sticky residue it needs to be cleaned off. Then it will work just fine, happy vaping!

I picked this up after a Volcano Classic and I think I got the Cadillac of both home and portable vaporizers. Was a little work to get the hang of without scorching my weed but I’ll never go smoke again. I had a vapair o2 mini and once I tested both I gave away the vapair to a friend in need. Either one was good but I think I did better with the MFLB. Remember to peel the batteries that come with in a bonus kit. You are actually completing a circuit when the battery is inserted so the outside of the battery must touch the metal ring in the unit also. Caught that as the other four bonus batteries where narrower than the OEM batts. Strongly recomend at least four batteries in rotation so that your not cut short. I haven’t been able to get a reg. AA to work in a pinch.
